After a hectic/lethargic Christmas (delete as appropriate depending on what you’re up to), there’s no doubt that some petrolheads will be feeling a little cooped up over the holidays. Luckily, the car gods are on your side, because January sees the return of the Performance Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Back for another year of fume-filled displays, features and live action, the Performance Car Show has become a staple in every car fanatics calendar. Held over the weekend of 13th/14th January 2018, the NEC will, once again, become home to some of the biggest names in the car industry.
Supercars New And Old
As the UK’s leading exhibition dedicated to performance and supercar fans everywhere, 2018’s show will be your chance to get up close and personal with some of the world’s most exceptional supercars. Not only that, but they’ll be appearing next to some of the more rare and renowned models from all over the world too.
Expect a return for the Autocar Supercar feature which will be sure to deliver another mind-blowing array of exclusive performance cars. And after the success of last year’s auction of rare, famous and infamous cars, anyone with deep pockets could be in for some tense bidding as more historic supercars go under the hammer.
Plus, new for 2018, is the introduction of a dedicated Tuning Village. Showcasing the latest innovation, technology and products, the Village will be a massive draw to any car enthusiast who’s looking to modify or upgrade their own ride.
And, the Live Action Arena is certainly something to add to your schedule. It’s the UK’s largest indoor race track and will definitely be just one of the highlights of the weekend. Seating 5,000 car fanatics, it will be petrolhead heaven as you get as close to the action as you can, and it will include a fast and furious mix of racing, demos, stunts and the odd celebrity thrown in.
And talking of celebs, last year’s show saw racing royalty join the weekend line-up, with the likes of former F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, and four times IndyCar Series champion, Dario Franchitti dropping in. While nothing’s been announced yet, expect 2018’s show to give you the opportunity to meet and greet even more performance car heroes.
Miss It, Miss Out
While Performance Car Show 2018 are keeping the full list of features and displays under wraps at the moment, time is ticking, so expect lots more updates and activity in the next couple of weeks. However, if 2017’s event was anything to go by, then you’ll be in for a bigger and better show in 2018.
The Performance Car Show is the perfect place to meet professionals from the tuning industry, check out the latest performance road cars, chat with club members, and be a part of some dynamic driving experiences. And together with live displays and features from the biggest names in car manufacturing, it’s certainly one you can’t afford to miss!
